PokeDoke In The Central West End

 In Feature, Food

St. Louis was long overdue for a restaurant that focuses solely on poke bowls, which you’ve likely seen on social media and popular food blogs. PokeDoke has taken the plunge, garnering praise and long lines at peak hours in its Central West End location. Plus, its clever branding—the restaurant’s name in the shape of a fish—doesn’t hurt either.

Build-your-own Poke bowls at PokeDoke are crafted from fresh, delicious sashimi. You can choose salmon, ahi tuna, spicy tuna, octopus or shrimp and a base of sushi white rice, brown rice, soba noodles, chips or salad. Then, select your desired spice factor—mild, medium or spicy—in the form of spicy mayo sauce, wasabi-mayo sauce, teriyaki-mayo sauce, sweet Thai chili sauce or eel sauce.

Then, to top it all off, select from your choice of vegetables and traditional sushi ingredients: avocado, kimchi, crabmeat, mango, pineapple, seaweed salad, Masago, green onion, fried onion, ginger, wasabi and edamame. You can also get pot stickers, crab rangoon, miso soup and bubble tea on the side. Are you hungry yet?
