The Pulitzer Arts Foundation is a museum that offers direct experiences with historic and contemporary art from around the world, inspiring bold conversations and new perspectives. Opening Nov. 3rd, “Living Proof: Drawing In 19th-Century Japan” offers a rare look at the immediacy and expressive power of line, highlighting drawings typically lost in the woodblock printing process. Featuring sketches by celebrated artists such as Hokusai, Kuniyoshi and Yoshitoshi, “Living Proof” offers a chance to see these artists’ original drawings. Admission to the Pulitzer is free, and parking is available.
The Sheldon Concert Hall
The Sheldon Concert Hall is well-known for hosting performances by world-class musicians from all over the world, with perfect acoustics. This season, enjoy jazz stars like Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, bluegrass pioneer Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Bernstein and Barber with performances by St. Louis Symphony musicians, “Salsa Navidad” with the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and much more. SOHA Studio & Gallery’s annual holiday show presents the work of more than 70 artists and makers from the St. Louis area.
