  July 9, 2010. Photos by Claire Bira/ALIVE Scene Team // Dancers, costumed characters and artists filled the streets of Downtown Maplewood for their annual celebration of Bastille Day. Live music, guided tours and a costume contest provided the entertainment for this zany day. Festivalgoers also had the chance to meet with dream interpreters and watch art demonstrations.

  Sip, Shop and Salute at Karr Bick Kitchen and Bath (14 photos)

  July 8, 2010. Photos by Bill Pappas/ALIVE Scene Team // It was an afternoon of shopping, cocktails and hors d' oeuvres at Karr Bick Kitchen + Bath. The trendy store was the setting of the party while guests perused items from some of STL's hottest shops and local designers. The first 200 guests walked away with a gift bag with items donated from some of the event sponsors. A percentage of the proceeds benefited Fischer House, which raises money to help military families.

  Taste of Health at Extra Virgin, an Olive Ovation (22 photos)

  July 8, 2010. Photos by Bill Pappas/ALIVE Scene Team // Tastemakers and food lovers gathered at this gourmet specialty shop for an open house. Attendees enjoyed Barefoot wines and MGD 64, while they sampled over 50 olive oils. The different oils were paired with light appetizers to create healthy snacks. Voluntary donations benefited Food Outreach, an organization dedicated to providing nutritional support for those living with HIV/AIDS in the St. Louis areas.

  June 26, 2010 // The hottest hipsters and hairdressers gathered at HOME nightclub to watch as 10 noteworthy stylists battled head to head to win the coveted Beauty Battle Champion title. Partygoers watched as 10 models had their hair transformed into works of art by some of STL's most elite salons. Guests partied into the late evening as they celebrated beauty experts from across the city.

Super Bowl champion, Roland Williams, hosted the annual red carpet event to raise funds for the charity. Weekend of Champions brings together entertainment, sports, and corporate excellence to help communities from across the nation come together.

Van Ella is known around St. Louis for her sultry performances and her "booty-ful" backside. Her shows have garnered a lot of attention due to her flirty smile and racy spectacle, which has landed her some coveted spots in shows around the country.

  June 26, 2010. Photos by Kaitlin Drake and Robert Brown/ ALIVE Scene Team // More of STL's hottest celebrated Pride Weekend on the expansive outdoor patio at Atomic Cowboy. Guests grooved to the dance beats of DJ Shea Marie and DJ Sinamin until 3am. Project St. Louis' special Pride "Fame Box" Photo Booth kept guests entertained throughout the night, while Peppermint, celebrity drag queen, tore up the dance floor with attendees. A portion of the proceeds benefited the Human Rights Campaign and their mission to achieve equality for LGBT's in their communities. Proceeds also benefited Promo, a statewide organization advocating LGBTs through politics and grassroots efforts.

  ULTRA 2010: VIP Party (28 photos)

Celebrity drag queen Peppermint gave a scintillating performance and DJ Superconductor mixed chilled beats as VIPs enjoyed complimentary drinks and appetizers. Guests walked away with an ULTRA VIP gift bag.
