What better way to embrace the spring than taking your workout out of the gym and into the sun? With the help of these local organizations, you can run for fun, climb or row your way into shape this spring, all while working on your tan.
Run for your life
Fleet Feet Sports holds Sunrise and Sunset Social Runs for free at five-mile courses at Chesterfield, Fenton and St. Charles. And, St. Louis Track Club offers a 16-week Marathon Training program, free for members.
Taste for adventure
St. Louis Canoe and Kayak Club paddles large rivers, small streams and local lakes in Missouri and Illinois. Ginkgo Adventures organizes groups for backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, biking and multi-sport adventures.
Become a Yogi
Urban Breath Yoga holds an outdoor class at the Forest Park Visitor's Center on Sundays. Shakti Yoga St. Louis practices at Larson Park on Saturdays 9-10am. Tower Grove Farmers' Market offers free yoga when the 2012 market season begins May 5.
