ALIVE Summer '08 Internship Open House

Photography, Editorial, Design, Executive Assistant, Marketing and Fashion internships are available for Summer 2008. ALIVE Magazine is hosting an internship open house on Saturday, April 19 at 11am. ALIVE strives to provide the most hands-on internship experience possible. Since ALIVE’s inception, the magazine has been proud to work with students from some of the best programs in St. Louis and the region. ALIVE’s entrepreneurial environment and rapidly growing business allows interns to gain valuable experience in the magazine and marketing industries, as they have the opportunity to directly assist and work alongside department heads on a number of projects at a time. All internships are unpaid positions.

Editorial Intern:

Responsible for assisting editors as needed, which includes, but is not limited to: writing event calendar, small pieces in the up-front STL Now section, fact checking, research, story development and miscellaneous in-office projects. Copyediting skills preferred. Interested applicants should send cover letter and resume to Cristy Miller at cristy@alivemag.com.

Photography Intern:

Responsible for scheduling and executing photos as needed for Editorial, Sales and Marketing staff.  Must be adept at working with digital photography and have a keen eye for detail. Also required to shoot party pictures for the ALIVE Scene Team at the hottest events and parties in St. Louis. This internship demands some weekend and evening availability and an outgoing and upbeat personality. Access to digital SLR preferred but not required. Talented interns get the chance to shoot editorial front-of-book assignments as well. Interested applicants should send cover letter and sample images to Amanda Sang, amanda@alivemag.com

Graphic Design Intern:

Assists designers in Editorial, Marketing and Sales departments in color correction, photo extractions and design as needed.  Must be creative, detail-oriented and have a team-oriented approach to their work. Interested applicants should send cover letter and design samples to megan@alivemag.com.
