Moving: The Future Antiques
Announced on Friday, owner Claude Denis and the team at TFA The Future Antiques (314.865.1552)—that’s right, “Your Retro Plex”—will be packing up and moving out this July, from their current Morgan Ford storefront in the Tower Grove neighborhood to a yet-to-be-determined South City location. The E-blast cited “unexpected circumstances” as the reason, and promised an outstanding grand re-opening celebration—and markdowns during the transition. My longtime go-to for Mid-Century modern furniture, clothing and accessories, I was at first concerned (I fear change)—but then realized that this “markdowns” aspect could prove awesome, as I am in the market for some fab new… more …

Now available at Cha (9666 Clayton Rd., Ladue, 314.993.8080), the line is best described as “good girl wear”—heavy in flirty-feminine dresses for the Charlottes of… more …

Style Profile: Zooey Deschanel
“I am not a fashion person,” Zooey Deschanel claimed during my recent interview with her for the August issue of ALIVE. “I don’t really care what’s style. I want to wear clothes that express who I am, and that are flattering. I think people might respond to the fact that I don’t really care what the fashion world thinks of me; I am happy if I am able to inspire people to express themselves.”
If you make it to LouFest on August 29 (Deschanel and M. Ward—aka, She & Him—will take the stage at 8:30pm), you’ll likely find that… more …
