Thanks to everyone who has reached out to tell ALIVE and the world all about why you love your neighborhood! We’ll be accepting submissions through March 3, so keep that love flowing!
With the help of STL-born t-shirt company Mobili-Tees, we’ve decided to make things even more interesting! As a part of their RepSTL line, Mobili-Tees has offered to create a custom t-shirt design for whichever neighborhood receives the most love. As your #LoveMyHoodSTL submissions come in via email, blog comments and social media posts, we are tallying them up like votes. On March 4, we will determine which neighborhood got the most love by releasing the t-shirt design! Residents of the winning ‘hood will receive 20% discount to purchase shirts featuring the design. We’ll also select one person out of everyone who submitted love for the winning neighborhood to receive a free shirt!
Meanwhile, anyone can order the very cool Love My Hood t-shirt (pictured above) which you can order from the website, mobili-tees.com, starting right now! It’s a great way to drum up support from your neighbors to get your ‘hood in the running! Check out our Love My Hood Storify to see what people are saying in your neighborhood and others—and to see who’s in the lead!

no stlstyle? don’t they already do this stuff?
As a new resident of Benton Park (East.) I’ve grown to love living here just like I knew I would. It’s so great to live in such a diverse and up-and-coming area of St. Louis.
I know all of my neighbors because we’re usually barbecuing together in the summer or enjoying cocktails at the free evening concerts or events in one of the cities prettiest parks. People are involved in the community and where it’s headed and it’s great to be a part of that.
We live in the city by choice, not by chance. Benton Park has been our home now for 6 years, after 29 years in Shaw Neighborhood.
Benton Park is a place where I open my door to find little gifts our neighbors have left for us. We celebrate holidays with such activities as our Gourd Glow in the community garden when we cart all our jack-o-lanterns to Benton Park Lake where they can see their toothy grins reflected in the water. Our small park, once a burying ground for cholera victims, now is full of life with a new playground and a summer celebration of free concerts. Bikes and scooters carry residents to sidewalk cafes and people take walks. There is a such vitality that we gave our 1902 home a name. It is called Alegria, which means joy, what we have found living in Benton Park.
