Recently, Saint Louis Fashion Week presenting sponsor Brown Shoe Company invited me and my colleague, Gina DeGenova, for an evening of shoes, food and fun with Fergie Footwear shoe designer Carlos Molina—and what a night it was! We arrived at the chic private dinner club Blood & Sand, and were immediately in awe of the fabulous shoes from Carlos’ latest line that were on display in all sorts of striking colors, textiles and styles. From boots to must-have heels, we couldn’t get enough of the Fergalicious looks.
Cocktails by Blood & Sand
The cocktails and dinner courses presented by Blood & Sand topped off the evening perfectly, as Carlos shared his inspirations as a designer, his process for staying ahead of the trends and personal details about his life and family in New York. He raved about working with Fergie, giving us personal details that testified to her down-to-earth demeanor and dedication to her work on the shoe line. Carlos’ charismatic personality and love of life, design and, of course, shoes, was nothing short of inspiring. It was easy to see why he has been so successful as a designer and as an artist.
