I’m sure that most of you know Parties in the Plaza at Westport has evolved quite a bit through the years—from an enclosed parking lot event out by the lake to a more open concept party in the outdoor village area. Despite the changes, many things remain the same: drink and food specials, live music and a good time!
There are two bands at every party, one on either end of the plaza, and dancing is always on the agenda! Some of the usual suspects that always get the crowd moving are Griffin & the Gargoyles, FatPocket and Slam—to name a few. One of the best parts of the event is the food and drinks from Plaza favorites Bradford’s Pub, Dierdorf & Hart’s, Funny Bone Comedy Club, Patrick’s, Paul Mineo’s Trattoria, the Sheraton’s at Westport and Trainwreck Saloon. Now that the event has moved to the outdoor village, patrons are allowed to walk freely with their drinks and go from bar to bar over the course of the evening. Another recent (delicious) addition is the barbecue tents, selling pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, wings, mini sliders and bratwurst. There’s also a very fun photo area by Life at Play Photo, where guests can accessorize themselves and have their photos taken.
Parties in the Plaza takes place April through September on the third Thursday of the month. Don’t miss the next one on Thursday, August 16! There is no cover charge, but drinks and food are sold separately. The outdoor event lasts from 5-9pm, but the party doesn’t have to stop there!
