Standing out in a school of shouting shades and even louder prints, shoes and handbags in earthy tones were a sharp contrast—and a breath of fresh air—on the spring runways. Ever chic and wearable, the latest takes on the recurring trend include raw elements of cork, wood and woven raffia; come in suede and soft summer leathers; and reside everywhere on the color spectrum from ivory to khaki to creamy cognac. Hardware and metallic embellishments are crucial and noteworthy this season, adding oomph to accessories that might otherwise be considered bland. Spicing up anything organic is most always a good idea.
